Biography

백윤석은 2014년 유튜브 채널 THE DOCENT를 시작한 뒤 독립 다큐멘터리, 미술관과 비엔날레의 전시 영상, 뮤직비디오와 브랜드 캠페인을 제작해왔다. 국립현대미술관, 광주비엔날레, 베니스비엔날레 한국관을 비롯해 넷플릭스, TikTok, 강남언니, 넷마블 등과 협업했다.

장편 다큐멘터리 〈탄소를 세는 사람들〉을 공동 연출하고 〈호루몽〉을 프로듀싱했다. 송소희, 이랑, 실리카겔 등의 뮤직비디오를 연출했으며, 피크닉 〈힐튼서울 자서전〉과 두산갤러리 기획전 〈녹색섬광〉에는 참여 작가로 함께했다.

Since launching the YouTube channel THE DOCENT in 2014, Baek Yunsuk has worked across independent documentary, exhibition films for museums and biennials, music videos, and brand campaigns. His collaborators include the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, Gwangju Biennale, the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, Netflix, TikTok, Gangnam Unni, and Netmarble.

He co-directed the feature documentary “Carbon Counters” and produced “Horumon”. He has directed music videos for Song Sohee, Lang Lee, and Silica Gel, and participated as an artist in “Seoul Hilton: A Biography” at Piknic and “The Green Ray” at Doosan Gallery.
